I never, in a million years, dreamed we would own a Saffron daughter.  Sapphire is an enormous doe - 200 pounds! - and she embodies everything we want to develop in our herd.  Additionally, she is a tough cookie.  When we acquired Sapphire she was neglected and suffering from an antibiotic-resistant Pseudomonas infection in her udder.  She underwent a full mastectomy to resolve the infection, and has recovered better than we could have hoped.  Unfortunately, she will never be Linear Appraised or on DHI, due to her missing mammary.  However, we have such confidence in this doe that we retained a buck kid as a junior herdsire.  She is a favorite, and she knows it!  Sapphire finished her championship in a single outing, taking BDIS in 2/3 rings.  She is stunning.
